DURHAM – The Duke women's basketball team controlled the game from start to finish as the Blue Devils cruised to a 74-31 win over Austin Peay on Thursday night at Cameron Indoor Stadium.

Elizabeth Balogun and sophomore
Reigan Richardson both finished in double figures for the fifth time this season. Balogun led the way with a season-high 16 points to go with a team-high six rebounds, while Richardson added 12 points.
Shayeann Day-Wilson led the assist efforts for Duke (9-1) as the sophomore dished out five dimes with no turnovers.
Three players tallied six points to lead Austin Peay (3-5).
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Duke held an 18-0 lead after the opening 10 minutes of play. Balogun led five Blue Devil scorers with seven points in the period.
- Austin Peay was able to find its offensive footing a bit with 11 points in the quarter, but the Blue Devils produced 18 points of their own to take a 25-point lead, 36-11, into the break.
- Duke pushed its lead to 34 as the squad held a 22-13 advantage in the third-quarter scoring column.
- Two Blue Devils, Balogun and Richardson, combined for 14 of the 22 third-quarter points. Balogun cashed in eight more points to push her point total to 16, while Richardson added six points of her own.
- Duke outscored the Governors 16-7 in the final frame to put the finishing touches on the win.
GAME NOTES
- The Blue Devils finished with two in double figures – Balogun (16) and Richardson (12).
- For the seventh time this season Duke held the opposing team to 50 points or less, with the 31 points ranking as the lowest point total by a Blue Devil foe.
- Duke held Austin Peay to zero points in the first quarter, marking the first time in program history the Blue Devils have held an opponent scoreless in a quarter.
- It was also the second time that Duke held an opponent to 0.0 percent shooting in the opening period, having also done so in the season opener against North Carolina A&T.
- Duke held Austin Peay to 11 points in the first half, which is tied for the eighth-lowest point total in an opening half by a Blue Devil opponent.
- Duke scored 34 points off of 29 Austin Peay turnovers while also outscoring the Governors in the paint (52-18), on second chance opportunities (13-0), on the fastbreak (19-8) and off the bench (34-16).
- The Blue Devils forced the Governors into the full cycle of team turnovers – a shot clock violation (1), a five-second call and a 10-second violation (2).
