The Blue Devils and Yellow Jackets have met on the hardwood 101 times with Duke holding a 77-24 (.762) series advantage, including a 26-14 edge inside McCamish Pavilion.
In the last meeting between the Blue Devils and Yellow Jackets on Jan. 28, 2023, Duke beat Georgia Tech 86-43 at McCamish Pavilion, as the Blue Devils held the home team to just 18 second-half points. Kyle Filipowskitallied a game-high 18 points with seven rebounds, two assists and two blocked shots for Duke, while Jeremy Roachcontributed 12 points and Tyrese Proctor dished out a game-high eight assists.
Duke is coming off an 80-75 setback at Arkansas in the ACC/SEC Challenge on Nov. 29.

The seventh-ranked Blue Devils fell, 80-75, at Arkansas on Wednesday night in the ACC/SEC Challenge.Â
Duke was led by Kyle Filipowski, who scored 26 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, his second consecutive double-double.
Jeremy Roachscored 22 points on 7-of-13 shooting, his fourth game this season with at least 10 points and the 53rd time in his Duke career. The Blue Devils are now 40-13 when the senior reaches double-figures.
Freshman guard Jared McCainjoined Filipowski with double-digit rebounds, snagging 10 total boards. McCain has finished with 10 or more rebounds in two of Duke's last four contests.
Tipping Off Conference Competition
Fresh off its league-leading 22nd ACC Tournament title, Duke begins conference play on Saturday afternoon, taking on Georgia Tech at McCamish Pavilion.
In regular-season play last season, Duke finished with a 14-6 record and in a tie for third place, entering the ACC Tournament as the fourth seed.
Duke aims to improve on its ACC road record of 4-6 from a year ago, with one of those four victories coming at Georgia Tech.
The Blue Devils hold an overall series record of 77-24 against the Yellow Jackets and emerged victorious, 86-43, in their trip to Atlanta last season.
Seeking a Sixth Straight Successful ACC Opener
Duke is 52-18 (.743) in ACC openers all-time and will have now opened conference play on the road in seven of the last 10 seasons.
The Blue Devils have secured the win in five consecutive ACC openers -- their last loss in the first ACC game of the season came on Dec. 9, 2017, an 89-94 loss at Boston College.
Duke has been matched up with Georgia Tech in just two other ACC openers -- during the 1979-80 and 2011-12 seasons, one at home and one on the road. Both games ended in a win for Duke, with the most recent contest ending 81-74, in favor of the Blue Devils, at Philips Arena (now State Farm Arena).Â
Overall, on the road, Duke is 15-12 in ACC openers and have won two straight.
Flip Doubles Up on Double-Doubles
Sophomore Kyle Filipowskihas tallied double-doubles in each of Duke's last two games, moving his career total to 18 double-doubles in just 43 games played.Â
The Westtown, N.Y., native scored 21 points against Southern Indiana while reeling in 14 boards for his first double-double of the season. He then poured in 23 second-half points en route to a season-best 26 total points to go along with 10 rebounds at Arkansas.
So far this season, Filipowski has upped his shooting averages both overall and from distance compared to his freshman campaign. The 7-footer is averaging nearly 20 points per game while shooting 53.7% from the field and 30.4% on three-pointers, up from 44.1% and 28.2%, respectively.
Duke's Three-Point Streak
Duke has connected on at least one three-pointer in 1,196 straight games, the second-longest streak nationally.
It has been more than 30 years since Duke was held without a three-point field goal -- Dec. 30, 1989, versus Hawai'i.
