QUOTES
- "I thought King and Busse threw well for them. We had our chances and had opportunities to apply a lot of pressure, but they made pitches, and we weren't able to get the big hit. I thought that game was a little bit of a stale mate from the fifth inning on. The job our bullpen did to keep it within striking distance was huge. We had our chances in that game, where one ball run out of the yard or into a gap and it's a different story." – Head coach Chris Pollard on his thoughts about the game today.
- "It puts us in a position where we can lengthen the bullpen overall. We have a lot of baseball ahead of us and the chance to establish that depth is huge. The outing by Beasley was awesome and he is a guy we are going to have to rely on down the stretch and probably will pitch on Tuesday." – On the job the trio of arms did to extend the game for the Blue Devils.
UP NEXT
- Duke returns to Jack Coombs Field to conclude the regular season home slate, hosting Gardner-Webb. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m.
