QUICK HITS
- Duke welcomes Princeton to Jack Coombs Field for four games over the weekend, the Blue Devils' third consecutive four-game set at home.Â
- The Blue Devils will continue their weekend rotation of Aidan Weaver, Matthew Nochowitz, Ben Dean and Andy Leon. Weaver and Leon both earned wins last weekend during Duke's series with Milwaukee, with Weaver striking out nine on Friday afternoon and Leon facing one over the minimum, allowing a single base runner due to a hit by pitch during his four innings of work.
- Duke picked up a road win in its first trip away from home this season, defeating UNCW, 6-3, on Tuesday, Feb. 24. The Blue Devils scored the game's final six runs, rallying for its eighth win of the season. Cider Canon logged the go-ahead knock, a two-RBI single in the seventh inning.
- Canon, a highly anticipated transfer from Davidson, leads Duke's qualified hitters in OPS (1.147), average (.394) and hits (13). His pair of home runs are tied for the team lead and the junior is a perfect 7-for-7 on stolen base attempts, trailing only Tyler Albright (8-for-8) for stolen bags.
- Duke has broken ground on the David Koch Jr. Player Performance Center, the program announced on Feb. 26. The 8,000 square foot facility, designed by EwingCole and built by LeChase Construction Services, will feature a pitching lab, hitting lab, and training lab, with direct access to Jack Coombs Field. Duke student-athletes will be able to utilize several developmental technologies, including Trajekt, iPitch, NewtForce, Trackman and Kinatrax.
- Corey Muscara, known as "Moose" around the program, brings 15 years of collegiate coaching experience to Durham, including the last four seasons as an assistant coach at Wake Forest.
- Duke announced the hire of Mike Salvino as the program's general manager on Feb. 23. Salvino steps into the role with a goal of building championship teams while also mentoring student-athletes on how to grow their personal brands and prepare for professional careers beyond the game.
- Duke's staff is rounded out by Scott Loiseau (associate head coach), Matt Wessinger (hitting coach), Will Craig (recruiting coordinator), Sean Fisher (pitching coach), Sean Coveny (analytics) and Mickey Bassett (baseball operations).
- The 2026 roster has been completely revamped, with only one position player in the starting lineup from Duke's final game of 2025 remaining (Tyler Albright) and only seven total pitchers returning.
