NEED TO KNOW
- Top-ranked Duke women's soccer (12-1-1, 7-0-1 ACC) continues its tough stretch Sunday, Oct. 27 as the Blue Devils travel to No. 2 Wake Forest (11-2-2, 6-1-1 ACC) for a 6 p.m., contest at Spry Stadium.
- Sunday's contest will be aired live on ACC Network Extra with Ty Collins (PXP) and Kyle Bonn (Color) on the call.
- Duke graduate student Nicky Chico will miss the contest on Sunday after receiving a red card against Notre Dame in the second half on Thursday.
- With a draw against Notre Dame on Thursday, Duke clinched a spot in the ACC Championship.
- Wake Forest and Duke lead the ACC with only nine goals allowed on the season.
- On the season, Duke has scored 48 goals by 13 different players. Ten Blue Devils have totaled two or more goals. Duke has also scored two or more goals in 10 straight contests.
- Robbie Church announced on July 22, 2024 he will be retiring at the end of the season and Duke will be promoting associate head coach Kieran Hall to head coach in 2025. Current assistant coach Carla Overbeck will move to associate head coach in 2025 as well.
STORYLINES/OTHER BLUE DEVIL NOTES
- Mia Oliaro has assisted in seven consecutive matches. Overall, Oliaro owns four goals and eight assists during that stretch. Her seven-game streak is the highest current mark in the ACC.
- Blue Devil sophomore Mia Oliaro (2, 10) fifth year Ella Hase (T3, 9), and junior Devin Lynch (T3, 9) all rank in the top three of the ACC in assists.
- The Blue Devils' 12 victories on the season mark the 16th time out of Robbie Church's 24 years he has led Duke to double-digit wins.
- Maggie Graham has registered nine goals over her last 12 matches, while adding five assists. She owns a career-high 23 points on the season. Graham has scored or assisted in nine out of the last 12 contests.
- Robbie Church now owns 119 ACC wins over his career, which are the third-most in league history behind Steve Swanson (150) and Anson Dorrance (244).
- Duke holds a +189 advantage in shots and +39 in goals on the season.
- Devin Lynch scored or assisted in eight-straight matches prior to the Boston College match, which were also Lynch's first eight starts of the year. She totaled four goals and eight assists during that stretch. Lynch has score or assisted in nine out of the last 10 contests.
- Duke has scored 48 goals the last 13 matches, while the Blue Devils scored a total of 15 goals a season ago in 16 contests.
- Blue Devil head coach Robbie Church reached the 300-win mark against SMU. He is the winningest coach in Duke history.
- The last time the Blue Devils dropped a season opener was in 2017. Duke went on to win 19 straight after the loss and made an appearance in the NCAA College Cup.
- Duke was shutout in the season opener for the first time since 2014, which was also a loss to Ohio State (1-0).
- The last time Duke head coach Robbie Church dealt with a losing season was in 2014 and the next year he led the Blue Devils to the 2015 NCAA College Cup.
THE SERIES WITH WAKE FOREST
- Duke and Wake Forest will meet for the 37th time in program history with the Blue Devils leading the series, 21-10-5.
- In matches played in Winston-Salem, N.C., Duke leads with an 8-5-2 ledger and has won four in a row. The last loss for the Blue Devils at WFU was on Sept. 19, 2013 (3-1).
- Duke has won seven out of the last nine matches with the Demon Deacons, but will face each other for the first time since Oct. 6, 2022 in Durham.
- The Blue Devils travel to Winston-Salem for the first time since Oct. 15, 2021 (2-0 Duke win).
SCOUTING THE DEMON DEACONS
- Wake Forest enters the match on Sunday as one of the hottest teams nationally with an 11-2-2 overall and 6-1-1 ACC mark. The Demon Deacons have won four straight and have not dropped a match since Sept. 12 at North Carolina.
- Wake Forest has outscored opponents, 11-2, over the last four matches.
- Caiya Hanks (8 goals, 7 assists), Emily Colton (6 goals, 4 assists) and Emily Murphy (3 goals, 6 assists) have led WFU on the year.
- At home in Winston-Salem, Wake Forest has totaled a 5-0-1 record with the lone draw coming against California, 2-2, on Sept. 22.
HEY, I KNOW YOU!
- Numerous Blue Devils played club soccer at the NC Courage with WFU's Laurel Ansbrow, who is from Cary.
AGAINST RANKED FOES
- So far this season, Duke owns a 4-0-1 ledger against ranked opponents, including two wins against top 10 foes (Stanford and North Carolina).
- Maggie Graham owns four goals and three assists for 11 points in those contests. Devin Lynch has tallied three goals and four assists for 10 points.
- The Blue Devils have outscored the opponents, 13-6 and hold an 45-18 shot advantage.
SPARK OFF THE BENCH
- Blue Devil sophomore Mia Minestrella keeps providing a huge spark off the bench for Duke this season. She has totaled eight goals and four assists for 20 points, all which have come off the bench in 14 matches.
- After playing 16 matches a season ago as a freshman and not scoring on 23 shots, Minestrella has come alive this season.
- She has scored a goal in three straight contests and four out of the last five.
- Minestrella wasn't really herself as a freshman, after missing all of the preseason following surgery.
ON THE ROAD
- Duke hits the road once again for the final two matches of the regular season.
- On the year, the Blue Devils are 4-1-0 away from home with the lone loss coming in the season opener at Ohio State.
- Duke holds a 12-4 scoring margin and 92-42 shot advantage in those matches.
- Maggie Graham has scored four goals, while Devin Lynch, Ella Hase and Mia Minestrella have tallied two goals each.
- Mia Oliaro owns four assists, while Lynch has three.
- Over the last four road matches, Duke has outscored opponents, 12-3.
LIGHTING IT UP IN ACC PLAY
- Duke has turned in a record-breaking ACC regular season so far with two matches remaining.
- The Blue Devils have scored Duke records for goals (28), assists (37) and points (93) in ACC play.
- The previous highs were 23 goals in 2017, 31 assists in 2022 and 71 points in 2022 in 2022, 2004 and 2013.
- Mia Oliaro's eight assists are also a Duke record, snapping Elisabeth Redmond's mark from 2007.
- The mark for points is 20 by Michelle Cooper in 2022, while Maggie Graham and Mia Oliaro each have 16 so far.
MIA squared
- The Duke duo of Mia Oliaro and Mia Minestrella continue to be one of the top tandems nationally this season as they have combined to notch 13 goals and 14 assists.
- Mia squared have a knack for helping each other score as well as Oliaro has assisted on five of Minestrella's eight goals (Nebraska, SMU, Louisville, Boston College, Notre Dame)
- Minestrella assisted one of Oliaro's goals against the Eagles as well on Oct. 19.
- The duo are also roommates this year.
WINGBACKS SHINING
- Duke wingbacks Ella Hase and Mia Oliaro are shining in their role this season. Since moving to those positions against Nebraska in the second match of the season, they have combined for eight goals and 19 assists.
- Hase has totaled three goals and nine assists on the left side of the pitch, while Oliaro owns five goals and 10 assists on the right side.
- The duo has also helped lead Duke to seven shutouts on the defensive end and allowed a tied for ACC-best nine goals.
CHALLENGING SLATE AHEAD
- Duke closes the regular season with three straight top 10 opponents, including the final two on the road. The last time the Blue Devils faced three consecutive top 10 opponents in the regular season was in 2011 -- No. 5 Boston College (W, 1-0), No. 9 North Carolina (L, 1-0), No. 4 Wake Forest (W, 2-0). All three matches were on the road.
- Overall, Duke as faced three straight top 10 opponents only three times in program history (1999, 2011, 2015).
- Of the final six regular season matches, five of those were against nationally-ranked foes -- Wake Forest (2), North Carolina (4), Stanford (7 when played), Notre Dame (7) and California (17 when played).
- Four of the six contests are on the road as well.
NOTING THE BLUE DEVILS
- After not scoring last season for the Blue Devils, Devin Lynch and Mia Minestrella have combined for 14 goals and 13 assists on the season for 41 points.
- Robbie Church now owns 119 ACC wins over his career, which is the third-most in league history behind Steve Swanson (150) and Anson Dorrance (244).
- Leah Freeman ranks second in the ACC with an .809 save percentage and third with a .700 goals-against average.
- Freeman will eclipse the 7,000-minute mark in her next contest as she owns 6,999:17 over her career.
- Katie Groff totaled her second goal of the season against Louisville and has registered two goals in each of the last four years.
- Cameron Roller has played the full 90 minutes in seven out of the last eight contests. Groff has played the entire match in six consecutive matches and seven out of the last eight.
- Duke finished the month of September with a 5-0 ledger, which marked only the second undefeated month of September in program history (2017 - 8-0).
- Maggie Graham has started a team-best 36 straight matches at Duke.
TOP WINNING STREAKS
- Duke owns a 13-match unbeaten streak on the season and had its 12-match winning streak come to an end against Notre Dame. The 12-match mark was the second-longest in Duke history.

GRAHAM BREAKS OUT AS GRADUATE
- After scoring a career-high four goals as a junior and only eight goals over her first four seasons, graduate student Maggie Graham has come alive as a scorer in her final season in Durham.
- Graham owns a team-high nine goals and five assists for 23 points.
- Her previous high for points in a season was 14 in 2022 as a junior.
- Graham played in her 92nd career match against Boston College to move into a tie for 10th at Duke.
- Her three game-winning goals are a career high as well and now owns six over her Blue Devil career to rank tied for 20th.
- Graham's 93 matches played over her career is tied for sixth on the Blue Devil record charts.
LYNCH SCORING AS JUNIOR
- After not scoring her first two years at Duke, junior Devin Lynch has tallied six goals over the first 14 matches in 2024.
- The only other Blue Devils to be scoreless their first two seasons and then score four or more goals as a junior were Kelly Hathorn (6 in 2007), Heidi Hollenbeck (4 in 2004) and Molly Lester (4 in 2010).
- Lynch scored or assisted in eight straight matches prior to the Boston College match, which was the second-longest streak in program history. It was also the longest streak in the ACC this season.
- Since entering the starting lineup against ETSU on Sept. 8, Lynch has totaled five goals and assisted in nine out of the last 10 contests.

QUICK START IN ACC PLAY
- Duke jumped out to a 7-0 start in ACC play for only the second time in Blue Devil history (2024, 2017).
- The Blue Devils posted a 10-0-0 ledger in 2017 to win the ACC regular season title.
- Duke is averaging an ACC-best 3.50 goals a game in ACC play scoring 21 in seven matches.

- For the first time in program history, Duke scored three or more goals in seven straight matches, prior to registering two at California.
- Duke has totaled two or more goals in 10 consecutive matches to rank nationally. Utah Valley owns nine straight matches and next plays Oct. 26.
HIGH-SCORING OFFENSE
- Since the season opener, the Blue Devils have tallied 48 goals in 13 matches.
- Duke's offense has produced a season-high goals allowed by six opponents -- UNC Wilmington (4), East Tennessee State (5), Virginia (3), Stanford (4), Boston College (7) and Notre Dame (3).
- The 48 goals over the first 14 matches ranks first in program history -- 48 (2024), 45 (2004), 44 (2012).
- Duke ranks first in the ACC in points per game with a 11.1. The Blue Devils' 3.4 goals per game average and 4.2 assists per game ranks first in the league.
