DURHAM, N.C. – Duke swimming and diving returns to the pool this weekend, traveling to Greensboro, N.C., for a three-day Mid-Season Invitational at the Greensboro Aquatic Center beginning Thursday, Nov. 21 to Saturday, Nov. 23.
Seven teams, including NC State, Virginia Tech, Arizona State, Army, Northwestern, and Arizona, will compete in the mid-season invitational. Prelims begin each morning at 9:30 a.m., while finals are slated to begin at 5:30 p.m. each evening.
NOTABLES
- In her first meet of the season, Margo O'Meara set a new pool record in the three-meter dive and improved her all-time score in the event to 380.18, second in program history.
- Ali Pfaff moved into the top 10 in three separate events so far this season moving into sixth in the 100 Freestyle (49.14), seventh in the 50 Freestyle (22.58), and eighth in the 200 Freestyle (1:47.66).
- Junior Kaelyn Gridley improved her own top time in the 100 Breaststroke, touching with a time of 58.68.
- Graduate Charles Morici posted his first all-time top performance as the Blue Devil, touching in the 100 Butterfly with a time of 47.75. Fellow graduate Kyra Sommerstad clipped the top 10 in both the 200 Butterfly (1:57.72) and 400 IM (4:15.65).
- Junior Audrey Portello also tallied a top performance in the first three meets of the season, touching in 10th with a time of 4:48.38 in the 500 Freestyle.
