HENDERSON, Nevada – Duke senior Reigan Richardson was the story for the Blue Devils Wednesday afternoon, scoring a career-high 35 points to lead 13th-ranked Duke (7-1) to a thrilling, 109-99, overtime win over No. 8 Oklahoma (6-1) in the Ball Dawgs Classic title game.
Richardson, tapped the Ball Dawg's Classic MVP, knocked down 13-of-22 shots overall, including 5-of-9 from long range, and dished out seven assists in a stellar performance for the veteran. The senior was unconscious during the overtime period scoring 10 of Duke's 15 points.
Junior Ashlon Jackson contributed 18 points to finish the Ball Dawgs Classic with 48 total points, while sophomores Jordan Wood and Jadyn Donovan added 13 and12 points, respectively. Taina Mair once again was excellent in spearheading the offense with the junior recording 10 points and a season-high nine assists.
The Blue Devils also revised the program records books, tallying a Duke single-game record 38 assists on 40 made field goals.
