DURHAM, N.C. – No. 13 Duke makes a pit stop back home, unwrapping the month of December against the Columbia Sunday, Dec. 1. Action is slated to tip off at 12 p.m., live on ACC Network.
THE OPENING TIP:
- Duke and Columbia are squaring off for just the second time all-time with the series standing at 1-0 in favor of the Blue Devils.
- The Blue Devils posted a 66-62 road win in the first meeting between the schools back on November 14, 2023. Taina Mair paced the Duke efforts with 18 points in the game.
- Ashlon Jackson and Reigan Richardson cashed in their chips at the Ball Dawgs Classic with the tandem posting iconic performances in back-to-back wins over No. 9 Kansas State and No. 8 Oklahoma. The pair became the first Duke teammates to score 30 points in consecutive victories against top-10 opponents.
- The Blue Devils enter the weekend fresh off a thrilling overtime victory over No. 8 Oklahoma in the Ball Dawgs Classic title game, 109-99.
- Reigan Richardson was the story scoring a career-high 35 points on 13-of-22 shooting, including 5-of-9 from deep, and dishing seven assists.
- Ashlon Jackson (18), Jordan Wood (13), Jadyn Donovan (12) and Taina Mair (10) joined Richardson in double figures while the Blue Devils dropped a program single-season record 38 dimes on 40 field goals.
- Duke's offense has been on a tear to open the year putting up 84.0 points on 48-percent shooting and 39 percent from deep - 25th, 26th and 22nd, respectively, in the NCAA (NCAA rankings as of 11.30). The team's 84.0 points per game is the highest scoring average since 2013-14.

Mair was stellar handling the rock in wins over No. 9 Kansas State (11.25) and No. 8 Oklahoma (11.27) at the Ball Dawgs Classic, dishing seven dimes against the Wildcats and a season-high nine against the Sooners.
- Duke has received a huge lift from its reserves this season, checking in at No. 13 nationally and first in the ACC with 34.8 bench points per game (NCAA rankings as of 11.30).
- Duke has wreaked havoc defensively posting 12.1 steals (45th in NCAA) per game while forcing its foes into 21.4 turnovers (NCAA rankings as of 11.30).
TROPHY SEASON – LAST TIME OUT:
- Reigan Richardson was the story for the Blue Devils, scoring a career-high 35 points to lead 13th-ranked Duke (7-1) to a thrilling, 109-99, overtime win over No. 8 Oklahoma (6-1) in the Ball Dawgs Classic title game.
- The Ball Dawg's Classic MVP knocked down 13-of-22 shots, including 5-of-9 from long range, and dished out seven assists in a stellar outing. She was unconscious during the overtime period scoring 10 of Duke's 15 points.
- Ashlon Jackson contributed 18 points while Jordan Wood and Jadyn Donovan added 13 and 12 points, respectively. Taina Mair was excellent in spearheading the offense, recording 10 points and a season-high nine assists.
- The Blue Devils also revised the program records books, tallying a Duke single-game record 38 assists on 40 made field goals.
OFFENSIVE FIREPOWER:
- Duke's offense has been on a tear to open the year putting up 84.0 points on 48-percent shooting and 39 percent from deep - 25th, 26th and 22nd, respectively, in the NCAA (NCAA rankings as of 11.30).
- The team's 84.0 points per game is the highest scoring average since 2013-14. Duke is also cashing in 6.5 triples per game. Both marks would rank No. 2 on the Duke charts if the season ended today.
- Duke's 109 points against Oklahoma were the Blue Devils' most against a ranked foe since Jan. 24, 2002, when the team scored 102 points in a 20-point triumph over No. 21 North Carolina.
- The Blue Devils have eclipsed the 100-point threshold three times under Kara Lawson with the 109 points ranking second in the Kara Era - just two shy of the 111 scored against Charleston Southern in 2022-23.
- Duke has put up 70 or more points in each game this season. It marks the team's longest streak of 70-point outings to open the year dating back to 2013-14, when Duke scored 70-plus in each of its first 10 games.
- The Blue Devils have featured a minimum of three players in double figures each game and finished with at least five double-digit scorers three times this season.
- Overall, the Blue Devils have had five different leading scorers through eight games, with eight different players reaching double figures thus far.
- Duke scored 80-plus points in its first four games, marking the longest streak of 80-point outings to open the season since 2014-15.
- The Blue Devils' balanced attack is led by the double-figure trio of Ashlon Jackson (16.0), Reigan Richardson (14.5) and Toby Fournier (12.1).

- Richardson netted a collegiate-best 35 points on 13-of-22 shooting, including a 56-percent clip (5-of-9) from deep. The senior was spectacular during the overtime period scoring 10 of the Blue Devils' 15 points.
- Tapped the 2024 Ball Dawgs Classic MVP, Richardson also dropped a career-high seven assists and snagged three boards to complete a superb all-around performance.
- Richardson's 35 points were the most by a Duke player against a top-10 opponent, shattering former Duke standout Monique Currie's 20-year-old mark of 31 (2.13.06).
- Jackson paced the Blue Devils in the opening victory over the Wildcats, erupting for a career-high 30 points on 10-of-15 shooting while adding three rebounds, two assists and two steals to her statline.
- The China, Texas product's 30 points were the most by a Duke player since Haley Gorecki had 30 against Idaho State (11.21) in 2019, and tied Lexie Brown (2.19.18) for the second-most points against a top-10 team.
- Sixteen of those came in the second quarter (6-of-7 FG, 4-of-4 3PT), matching the highest individual second-quarter scoring output by a Blue Devil all-time. Jackson tied Haley Gorecki, who set the original mark Nov. 27, 2019.
- Richardson put up 51 points during the Ball Dawgs Classic while Jackson totaled 48, finishing the MTE with scoring averages of 25.5 and 24.0, respectively.
MAKING THE EXTRA PASS:
- Duke has looked to make the extra pass on offense with 146 of its 252 field goals coming via assists - a 58-percent assist rate.
- The Blue Devils rank in the top 25 nationally in assist average, slotted No. 24 with 18.3 dimes per game (NCAA rankings as of 11.30). That mark would rank fifth on the Duke single-season charts if the season ended today.
- In the 109-99 overtime victory over No. 8 Oklahoma, Duke rewrote the program record books racking up a single-game record 38 assists on 40 made field goals for a remarkable 95-percent assist rate.
- The 38 dimes set a program single-game record, surpassing the previous 20-year-old mark of 36 set in 2005 at San Diego (12.30), then tied again versus UNC Wilmington (12.20) in 2011.
- Duke has tallied 11-plus helpers in each game this year and dropped at least 17 dimes in five contests.
- Six Blue Devils have registered double-figure assists with three players owning 20 or more - Taina Mair (34), Jadyn Donovan (22), Vanessa de Jesus (20).
T-TIME DROPPIN' DIMES:
- Taina Mair has done a standout job quarterbacking the Duke offense and leads the team with 34 assists, which ranks No. 45 nationally (NCAA rankings as of 11.30). She is averaging 4.3 assists per game.
- Mair was stellar handling the rock in wins over No. 9 Kansas State (11.25) and No. 8 Oklahoma (11.27) at the Ball Dawgs Classic, dishing seven dimes against the Wildcats and a season-high nine against the Sooners.
- The junior averaged 8.0 dimes per game and finished the MTE with a 3.2 assist-to-turnover ratio after totaling 16 assists to just five turnovers.
- Mair has registered at least three assists in seven games this season, including five games with four-plus helpers.
