MIAMI – No. 10 Duke claimed a pair of run-rule victories over Army West Point on Saturday at Felsberg Field to advance to the championship game of the FIU Panther Invitational.
The Blue Devils will face host FIU in the title game on Sunday at 11:30 a.m.
On Saturday, Duke (8-1) first defeated the Black Knights (0-9) 8-0 in a five-inning contest to earn the No. 1 seed in pool play. The Blue Devils then claimed another 8-0 victory later that evening over the fourth-seeded Black Knights in six innings.

Dani Drogemuller collected wins in the circle, each throwing complete games of 5.0 and 6.0 innings, respectively. The duo combined to relinquish just four hits during the two contests.
HOW IT HAPPENED (GAME ONE)
- Senior Claire Davidson put the Blue Devils ahead early with a two-RBI single in the bottom of the first to score sophomore D'Auna Jennings and junior Ana Gold, after both reached on a walk.
- During her next at bat in the third inning, Davidson crushed a two-run blast over the left field fence to extend the lead to 4-0.
- Duke added three additional runs in the bottom of the frame to pull away, 7-0.
- Senior Francesca Frelick rounded out the scoring with a solo home run in the fourth inning for Duke's eighth and final run of the contest.
HOW IT HAPPENED (GAME TWO)
- On the second pitch she saw in game two, Gold went yard to put Duke ahead early in the first inning, 1-0.
- Senior Kelly Torres added another run to the board with an RBI-double to bring in Davidson, who also reached on a double.
- Duke then strung together five additional runs off six hits to make it a 7-0 game heading into the fifth.
- Sophomore Aminah Vega sent a home run over the center field fence in the bottom of the sixth to ultimately seal Duke's second run-rule victory, 8-0.
NOTES
- Gold tallied a single in the bottom of the third inning of the opening game to mark her 100th career hit.
- She finished the day batting 3-for-6 and scored five of Duke's 16 runs.
- Garner-MacKinnon threw the first complete game of her career and improves to 2-0 on the year.
- The Blue Devils carry an eight-game winning streak into Sunday's contest, including three consecutive shutouts.
- Drogemuller moves her season ledger to 2-0 after four appearances in the circle.
- Vega recorded her second home run of the season during the nightcap.
