DURHAM – Third-ranked Duke's
Dyson Williams scored a game-high five goals and 13 different Blue Devils got on the scoresheet in a 21-6 victory over Providence in men's lacrosse action Wednesday night at Koskinen Stadium.
With the five goals, Williams became the 16th Blue Devil to score 200 career points. He has 203 for his career with 181 of those coming off goals.

Petey Malitas tallied his first career marker. Delgado finished the night with a goal and three assists. In goal,
Patrick Jameison made five saves and allowed just one goal.
How it Happened
- Duke jumped out to a 6-1 lead after the first quarter and led 14-1 after the opening 30 minutes. Williams registered a hat trick in the opening 3:30, scoring three of Duke's first four goals. He added a fourth with 54 seconds left in the period.
- Providence got on board at the 9:10 mark of the opening frame and wouldn't score again until 10:22 of the third quarter – a span of 28:48. Duke held the Friars to five shots in each of the first two quarters.
- Senior Brennan O'Neill had a big second quarter for the Blue Devils, notching two goals and two assists. Duke scored eight goals, including four in 3:47, in the period from six different sticks. Aidan Danenza had two and Benn Johnston had a goal and an assist to finish his night with a goal and two assists. Danenza finished his evening with a hat trick.
- Duke was dominant all over the field in the first 30 minutes, forcing Providence into 11 turnovers, winning 13-of-17 faceoffs and holding the Friars to just 8-of-12 clearing.
- The Blue Devils continued to fire on all cylinders in the second half, adding four more goals in the third quarter. Sophomore Max Sloat started the scoring, while Charles Balsamo and Jack Pappendick put themselves on the board. Swirbalus capped the stanza finding the back of the cage off an assist from Delgado. Duke tacked on three more goals in the fourth for the 21-6 victory.
- Jake Naso was dominant again at the faceoff dot, winning 13-of-16 and picking up nine ground balls. Cal Girard won 5-of-15 restarts and had five ground balls.
- Nine different Blue Devils registered at least one caused turnover, while 22 players had at least one ground ball. Duke forced 20 turnovers, while scoring 21 goals on just 40 shots.

- Dyson Williams became the 16th Blue Devil to record 200 career points. His 203 points are tied for 14th in program history, while his 181 goals are fifth in the Duke records book. The five goals mark his 13th game with at least five points and his 37th hat trick.
- Jake Naso became the ninth player in NCAA Division I history to win 900 career faceoffs. He has 906 wins and 511 ground balls to rank ninth and 10th, respectively, in NCAA history. His 1,491 faceoffs taken are eighth all-time.
- Brennan O'Neill finished with two goals and three assists for his 28th career five-point performance. He pushes his career points total to 269 to rank fifth in school history. His 179 career goals are sixth overall.
- O'Neill and Williams continue their goal scoring streak with tallies in their 36th and 30th consecutive games. O'Neill has 116 and Williams 100 in that span.
- Duke improves to 146-26 at home under head coach John Danowski.
- The Blue Devils' .525 shot percentage for the game marks the second time this season they have shot at least 50 percent. It is just the 20th time since 2007 Duke has shot over 40 percent in a game.
- Patrick Jameison posted a career-best .833 save percentage, allowing a career-low one goal in just under 30 minutes of action.
- The 20 turnovers forced by Duke as the second most for an opponent this season. Freshman Mac Christmas and sophomore Charlie Johnson notched his first career caused turnovers.
- All six Duke goaltenders saw time between the pipes. They combined to make 10 saves overall on 16 shots on goal.
