DURHAM, N.C. – For the 30th time in program history, the Duke women's soccer team received a bid to compete in the NCAA Tournament Monday, as the Blue Devils were seeded No. 2 and will host Elon (11-2-7) in the first round Friday, Nov. 14 at 6 p.m., on Freeman Field at Koskinen Stadium.
The Blue Devils (13-4-1) enter as a top-16 national seed for the ninth time in the last 11 seasons.
The winner of Friday's match advances to the second round to face the winner of the winner of the Maine (6-7-4) versus Central Florida (11-3-5) contest. That match will be played Thursday, Nov. 20.
The ACC received a total of nine selections – Stanford, Virginia, Notre Dame, Duke, Florida State, Clemson, Louisville, Wake Forest and North Carolina. Four of the nine selections were No. 1 or No. 2 seeds.
Duke earned the No. 2 seed after collecting a 13-4-1 overall and 7-3-0 ACC ledger. The Blue Devils enter the NCAA Tournament winning seven of their last eight contests under the direction of first year head coach

Cameron Roller – earned All-ACC accolades and have led Duke on the season. As a team, Duke ranks second nationally in assists per game (3.56) and fifth in points per game (8.67).
Elon captured the Coastal Athletic Association Championship by outlasting Stony Brook, 6-5, in penalty kicks after the contest finished in a 1-1 draw following 110 minutes. It marked the Phoenix's second CAA title in program history and Elon will make their second appearance in the NCAA Tournament. The Phoenix are led by Isa Murdock (7 goals, 6 assists) and Grace Gelhaus (7 goals, 3 assists). As a team, Elon has notched 10 shutouts and features a 0.64 goals-against average.
Duke and Elon will meet for the seventh time in program history and the second in NCAA Tournament action. The Blue Devils lead the overall series, 6-0, and last met on Aug. 26, 2018, as Duke totaled a 3-0 victory in Durham. The only meeting in the NCAA Tournament came on Nov. 10, 1999, as the Blue Devils collected a 3-1 win at home.
In NCAA Tournament matches being played in Durham, N.C., the Blue Devils boast a 32-3-1 record.
First round matches will be played Nov. 14-16, while the second and third rounds will take place Nov. 20 and 23, respectively, and the quarterfinals on Nov. 28 or 29. The NCAA College Cup will be played Dec. 5 and 8 in Kansas City, Missouri.
Tickets for Friday's NCAA first round contest will be $12 for adults, while ages two and under get in free. Duke students can claim complimentary tickets as they normally do for home events played at Duke.
