DURHAM, N.C. – The NCAA released Graduation Success Rate (GSR) data Wednesday, showing that 97 percent of Duke freshmen student-athletes receiving scholarship aid, or recruited individuals competing in non-scholarship programs, graduated within six years.
The latest GSR cohort includes student-athletes who entered college as freshmen from 2015-18, with the metric allowing for the removal of those who departed Duke in good academic standing.
Nationally, Duke is tied for third among Power 4 institutions with a 97 percent GSR. Notre Dame and Northwestern lead all Power 4 programs at 99 percent, followed by Duke, Boston College, Stanford and Cincinnati at 97 percent.
Eighteen of 23 Duke programs achieved a perfect 100 percent GSR for the 2015-18 cohort: men's and women's cross country and track & field, men's and women's fencing, men's and women's golf, men's lacrosse, men's and women's soccer, men's and women's swimming and diving, men's and women's tennis, rowing, field hockey, softball, volleyball and wrestling.
Among Duke's remaining programs, women's lacrosse (97), baseball (96) and football (94) each posted GSR marks of 94 percent or better, followed by women's basketball (87) and men's basketball (60).
Within the ACC, Duke's overall GSR is tied for second behind Notre Dame (99) and level with Boston College and Stanford.
