The Opening Faceoff
- No. 21 Duke (2-2, 0-1 ACC) hosts No. 17 Notre Dame (2-2, 0-1 ACC) for an ACC game Feb. 28 at 2 p.m. and Xavier (0-2, 0-0 Big East) for a non-conference game on March 2 at 10 a.m. in Koskinen Stadium. The last time the Blue Devils posted a win over the Fighting Irish was in 2022 in South Bend, Ind., 15-12. This is the first time Duke and Xavier are meeting.
- Duke is 2-2 on the season, securing wins over Elon and High Point, but falling at No. 10 Johns Hopkins and No. 1 Boston College.
- The Blue Devils are ranked No. 21 by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) for the second consecutive week. Along with their IWLCA ranking, they were voted No. 19 by Inside Lacrosse and No. 20 by USA Lacrosse Magazine. Other ACC schools in the rankings include No. 1 Boston College, No. 2 North Carolina, No. 6 Syracuse, No. 8 Stanford, No. 11 Virginia, No. 14 Clemson and No. 17 Notre Dame.
- Last Saturday, Duke went on the road for its first ACC game to face No. 1 Boston College, where it fell 18-10. The Blue Devils' offense was led by sophomore Bella Goodwin, who recorded two goals and an assist. Graduate student Callie Hem, senior Kerry Nease and redshirt sophomore Eva Pronti each added two goals. Defensively, redshirt junior Kennedy Everson matched her season high 10 saves.
- After this weekend, the Blue Devils head to South Carolina for an ACC game hosted by Clemson March 8 at noon and Campbell on March 10 at 11 a.m.
