BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Duke softball and head coach
Marissa Young captured win No. 300 with a 9-1 run-rule victory over Campbell Wednesday night at Amanda Lilttlejohn Stadium.
Young improves her record to 300-120 (.714) while at the helm of the Blue Devil program.

Dani Drogemuller tossed a complete game in the circle. Her no-hit bid was broken up in the bottom of the fifth with a pair of Campbell singles. The Frankfort, Ill., native allowed just one run off two hits with a game-high four strikeouts.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- After a scoreless first two innings, the Blue Devils jumped ahead using a five-run frame in the top of the third. Malau'ulu plated Duke's first run with an infield single, scoring Jennings Two batters later, Gold sent a three-run shot straight out of center field. Baker made it a 5-0 game with her sacrifice fly that allowed Mathis to tag up from third.
- Vega extended the Blue Devils' lead to 6-0 in the top of the fourth after bringing in Jennings on a groundout. Jennings reached on an infield single before moving up on wild pitch and a fly out.
- Duke kept the pace on offense, adding three runs in the top of the fifth using Baker's two-RBI single and sacrifice fly from freshman Brooklinn Thomas to stretch a 9-0 gap.
- Campbell pushed its lone run across the plate in the home half using a pair of hits before Drogemuller was able to sit down the final two batters to secure the run-rule victory.
NOTES
- Gold sent out her 50th career home run with a three-run shot in the top of the third inning.
- Baker's two-RBI single in the top of the fifth marked her 100th career hit.
- Drogemuller tossed the 33rd complete game of her career.
- She moves her season ledger to 14-6 after 30 appearances in the circle.
- The Blue Devils are 11-3 in run-rule games this season.
- Duke moves the all-time series to 7-2, including a 5-0 record when playing in Buies Creek.
UP NEXT
The Blue Devils finish out the regular season on the road, traveling over Raleigh to face NC State in their final ACC series. Friday's opener is scheduled for 7 p.m. and will be broadcast on ACC Network Extra.
