DURHAM, N.C.βDuke field hockey head coach
Pam Bustin and the Blue Devils are excited to take the field in 2025, welcoming a challenging schedule that features eight home games and seven contests against 2024 NCAA Tournament teams.
The Blue Devils will serve as host of the 2025 NCAA Championship semifinal and finals, marking the first time a national champion will be crowned on Williams Field at Jack Katz Stadium.
Duke also hosts the annual B1G/ACC Cup featuring the Blue Devils, Boston College, Maryland and Northwestern.
August Awaits
August will be here before we know it and the Blue Devils will be busy gearing up for a pair of official contests against Liberty (Aug. 29) and at American (Aug. 31). Duke will fine tune its play with a trio of scrimmages against Davidson (Aug. 12), Richmond (Aug. 16) and at Wake Forest (Aug. 23) before officially opening the 2025 campaign.
The season gets underway in Durham when the Blue Devils host the Flames. Duke is 7-3 against Liberty and 4-1 versus the Flames on Williams Field. Duke heads north two days later to play Patriot League power American. The two programs last met in the 2023 NCAA Championship with Duke edging the Eagles, 2-1.
Seven in September
September will be a busy month home and away for the Blue Devils with seven contests, including three conference matchups. Duke opens the month with the ACC/B1G Cup Sept. 5-7, taking on reigning NCAA Champion Northwestern (Sept. 5) and Maryland (Sept. 7).
Duke will travel to William & Mary for a single-game weekend Sept. 12 before opening ACC action with Stanford and California Sept. 19 and 21, respectively. The Blue Devils cap the month with a busy weekend of travel starting with a conference trip to Syracuse (Sept. 26). Two days later, the Blue Devils find themselves in Richmond, Virginia to take on VCU (Sept. 28). The contest with the Rams will be the second consecutive meeting after not having squared off for 22 years.Β Β
Nine in Month 10
Duke's schedule ramps up even more in October with the Blue Devils playing nine games β six on the road and three at home. Opening the month on the road at Virginia (Oct. 3) and James Madison (Oct. 5), Duke returns home for the first time since Sept. 21 to host Louisville Oct. 10. It's a short stay in Durham as Duke hits the road to the northeast to play Boston College (Oct. 17) and UConn (Oct. 19). The Blue Devils look to avenge the shootout loss to the Eagles in the ACC Tournament last season. Duke will celebrate the seniors in its final regular season weekend at Williams Field at Jack Katz Stadium when Wake Forest (Oct. 24) and Old Dominion (Oct. 26) come to town. Duke owns 10 straight wins over the Monarchs, facing each other all but two years since 2002. The regular season concludes with the rivalry matchup at North Carolina Oct. 31.
NCAA Championship Final Weekend Comes to Durham
Following the ACC Championship β slated to be played at Louisville, the opening weekend of the NCAA Championship gets underway Nov. 14 with first-round games. The semifinals take place Nov. 21, and the title game is Nov. 23.
