Minestrella Earns WPSL Best XI Honors

DURHAM, N.C. — Duke women's soccer junior Mia Minestrella has been selected to the Women's Premier Soccer League (WPSL) SOCAL Conference Best XI team, following an impressive summer campaign with the Beach Futbol Club.Â

In seven games played, Minestrella registered eight goals for Beach. Over her final three matches, she tallied seven of her eight goals.Â

Minestrella, who is from Redondo Beach, Fla., earned WPSL National Offensive Player of the Week on July 3 as she tallied five goals and three assists in leading her squad to a victory and draw. She contributed to eight of the 10 goals Beach Futbol Club scored in the two contests. Against the San Diego Dons, Minestrella notched a goal and assist, while also collecting four goals and two assists versus San Diego Parceiro. Â
Minestrella enters her junior season with the Blue Devils, after totaling 12 goals and seven assists in 2024.Â

Duke is set to open the 2025 campaign Thursday, Aug. 14 as the Blue Devils host 11th-ranked Penn State at 7 p.m.
