DURHAM, N.C. — Former Duke women's soccer standout Mackenzie Pluck has signed with Tampa Bay Sun Football Club of the Gainbridge Super League, ahead of the 2025 season.Â
Â
Pluck, a 2022 Duke graduate, spent the past year with the Brooklyn Cyclones. During her one season with the Cyclones, Pluck led the league in duels won, earned a spot on the league's October Team of the Month and scored a goal against Tampa Bay FC.Â
Â
"Mackenzie Pluck is a fierce competitor," said Tampa Bay FC head coach Denise Schilte-Brown. "She's a versatile and intelligent player who can positively impact our team in multiple positions. Her natural leadership makes her an outstanding addition to our group."
Â
Coming off claiming the USL Super League Championship in the inaugural season, Tampa Bay FC is primed for another title-contending season. Tampa Bay totaled a 1-0 victory over Fort Lauderdale United FC in the final in June, while totaling a 12-6-10 overall ledger on the year.Â
Â
Over five seasons with the Blue Devils, Pluck registered 21 goals and 29 assists in 107 matches. She helped lead Duke to three consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances and ranked in the top five in school history for NCAA postseason matches played.
Â
Pluck launched her professional career with Angel City FC in the NWSL on a one-year contract, later making stops at Racing Louisville FC, Gotham FC and Brooklyn FC.
Â
Tampa Bay FC opens the regular season Saturday, Aug. 23 on the road at Brooklyn FC at 7 p.m., on Peacock.Â
