DURHAM, N.C. — As the 2025 women's soccer season gets set to kick off this week, TopDrawerSoccer has released its preseason Best XI Teams with a trio of Duke standouts recognized. Junior
Cameron Roller received first team accolades, while junior
Mia Oliaro was on the second team and rookie
Avery Oder was listed on the freshman team.Â

A 2024 All-America selection and ACC Defensive Player of the Year, Roller had a breakout season for the Blue Devils a year ago. She started all 22 matches for Duke as a sophomore and logged a team-high 1,864 minutes for a defense that collected 12 shutouts. Roller, who is from Sherman, Texas, also added four goals, four assists and 12 points from the backline. She registered the game-winner on the road at 17th-ranked California.Â

A native of Chapel Hill, Oliaro is coming off a very impressive sophomore campaign with eight goals and 13 assists for 29 points. She tied a Duke record with nine straight games with a goal or assist, while also posting two matches with two goals (Boston College and Wake Forest). A 2024 All-ACC second team selection, Oliaro totaled game-winning goals against three ACC foes last season – Virginia, SMU and Wake Forest.Â

The No. 6 overall recruit in the nation coming out of high school, Oder was the U-17 ECNL National Player of the Year, a National Champion and an All-America selection in her final season of club soccer with Beach FC. In three years of high school soccer, Oder tallied 54 holes, 32 assists and 140 points at Oaks Christian H.S. A native of Calabasas, Calif., Oder recently trained with the United States U-17 and U-19 squads in 2024.Â

Duke is preseason ranked No. 4 nationally and will open the regular season Thursday, Aug. 14 at home as the Blue Devils host 11th-ranked Penn State at 7 p.m. The match will be aired live on ACC Network Extra from Koskinen Stadium.Â
