DURHAM, N.C. – The United Soccer Coaches released its NCAA Division I Women's Defenders to Watch list Tuesday with Duke junior
Cameron Roller one of 30 selected.

A 2024 All-America selection and ACC Defensive Player of the Year, Roller is coming off an impressive season for the Blue Devils. She started all 22 matches for Duke as a sophomore and logged a team-high 1,864 minutes for a defense that collected 12 shutouts. Roller, who is from Sherman, Texas, also added four goals, four assists and 12 points from the backline. She registered the game-winner on the road at 17th-ranked California.Â

In two years in a Duke uniform, Roller has started 32-of-35 matches and helped the Blue Devil defense to 17 shutouts.Â

Roller is one of only five Blue Devils to be tabbed ACC Defensive Player of the Year in Duke history – Carolyn Ford (2005), Natasha Anasi (2011), Christina Gibbons (2016) and Schuyler DeBree (2017).Â

Duke will open the regular season Thursday, Aug. 14 as the Blue Devils host 11th-ranked Penn State at 7 p.m., at Koskinen Stadium.Â
