DURHAM, N.C. – The Duke women's tennis team is set to open the 2025 fall campaign this weekend as the Blue Devils make the short drive town Tobacco Road for the Kitty Harrison Invitational, which will be contested at the Chewning Tennis Center on the campus of North Carolina in Chapel Hill.
Duke will face Virginia Friday on courts 7-12 beginning at 12 p.m. The Blue Devils will then take on Georgia at 1 p.m., Saturday on courts 1-6. Duke closes action Sunday with matches against Old Dominion at 1 p.m., on courts 7-12.
In the preseason Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) ledger, Duke features four ranked singles players -- sophomore
Irina Balus (14), junior
Eleana Yu (42), sophomore
Liv Hovde (49) and
junior Shavit Kimchi (61). In doubles play, Duke had three pairs ranked -- Balus/Hovde (2),
Ava Krug/Yu (76) and Kimchi/
Claire An (83).
