DURHAM, N.C. — The 19th-ranked Duke women's tennis team registered a 4-0 victory Friday afternoon against Boston College in the ACC home opener at Ambler Tennis Stadium in Durham. The Blue Devils won their 16th home match in a row to improve to 7-2 overall and 1-0 in the ACC.Â

Duke debuted its brand-new video board in the match Friday. Boston College dropped to 6-3, 0-1 in the ACC.

How It Happened
- The Blue Devils kicked off doubles on a high note winning the first three games on all three courts.
- On court three, Duke's tandem of Irina Balus and Aspen Schuman went ahead, 3-0, before dropping the only game of their match.The Blue Devils then won the next three games to take the match, 6-1.
- The clinching point for doubles came from court one as 12th-ranked Liv Hovde and Shavit Kimchi collected a 6-2 victory over Natalie Eordekian and Seren Agar.Hovde and Kimchi opened with a 3-0 lead and after dropping a contest she took a 4-1 advantage.Leading 4-2, the duo won the next two games to win, 6-2.
- On court two, Duke's 39th-ranked Claire An and Eleana Yu registered a 6-2 win over Olivia Benton and Leyden Games.
- Balus, who is ranked No. 22 nationally, kept the Duke momentum going on court one as she didn't drop a game in the first set against Benton winning 6-0.In the second set, Balus lost the first game and then won the next six to give Duke a 2-0 lead and won the set, 6-1.
- On court two, Hovde opened with a 3-1 lead, but Agar battled back to even the match, 3-3.A product of Daniel Island, South Carolina, Hovde then won the final three games to take the first set, 6-3.In the second, Hovde won the first game, but Agar won the next two to take a 2-1 lead.Hovde took control winning the next three games to take a 4-2 lead.She won two out of the next three games to put a third point on the board for Duke and take the match, 6-3.
- Both An and Schuman went to match point at the same time and An was able to officially clinch the victory for Duke with a 6-1, 6-3 win over Glowacka.Schuman concluded her contest with Eordekian a few seconds after An clinched.
- An, who saw action on court four Friday, dropped the first game in the first set, but reeled off six wins in a row to take the first set, 6-1.She then went ahead 2-0, against Glowacka, but her opponent battled back to cut the lead to 4-3.An was able to win the final two games to clinch the victory with a 6-3 second set win.
- Coming off earning the first singles ranking of her career at No. 86, Schuman trailed 1-0 and 2-1 early on court three, but won five straight games to take the first set, 6-2.In the second set, she never trailed winning, 6-1.
- On court five, senior Katie Codd was trailing Games, 3-6, 1-2 when the match was clinched.Sophomore Ava Krug won the first set, 6-2, against Barteck, but was trailing in the second when the match was clinched.
