DURHAM, N.C. — The Duke women's soccer tandem of
Devin Lynch and
Cameron Roller received ACC weekly accolades Tuesday. Lynch was tabbed the ACC Co-Offensive Player of the Week, while Roller earned ACC Defensive Player of the Week.Â
Â
The third-ranked Blue Devils registered an impressive, 2-0, win on the road at eighth-ranked Arkansas and then closed the weekend with a 1-0 victory over Creighton, to move to 4-0 on the season.Â
Â
On the road at No. 8 Arkansas, Lynch assisted on the game-winning goal in the first half and then put the game away with her first goal of the season late in the second half. Lynch played the entire 90 minutes and took three shots, including two on goal. Her three points were a season high and matched a career high.Â
Â
Lynch, who hails from Naperville, Illinois, played the full 90 minutes again and totaled three shots, including one on goal Sunday in a 1-0 victory over Creighton. Notre Dame's Laney Matriano shared ACC Co-Offensive Player of the Week honors along with Lynch.
Â
Roller continues to lead Duke's young backline as the Blue Devils' center back. A product of Sherman, Texas, Roller played the entire 90 minutes in both of Duke's victories this week against No. 8 Arkansas and Creighton. She helped limit the Razorbacks to zero goals for the first time this year and limited them to 12 shot attempts.Â
Â
On Sunday, Roller and the Blue Devils were dominant on defense, allowing only two shots and none on frame. Duke now owns three consecutive shutouts and hasn't allowed a goal since the first half of the season opener against No. 11 Penn State.Â
Â
Duke features two wins against top-11 ranked opponents, which is tied for the most nationally.
Â
The Blue Devils next face VMI Thursday, Sept. 4 at 7 p.m., at Koskinen Stadium in Durham.Â
