DURHAM, N.C. – The sixth-ranked Duke women's golf team returns to action this week as the Blue Devils travel to Glencoe, Illinois, to compete in the Windy City Collegiate Classic Oct. 5-6 at Lake Shore Country Club.
Seeing action in the event will be Purdue, Virginia, Tulsa, Northwestern, Iowa State, Arizona State, Stanford, Columbia, Oregon, Arizona, Duke and Illinois.
Duke returns to the Windy City Collegiate Classic after finishing as co-champions a season ago, as the Blue Devils and host Northwestern finished the 54-hole event with a 13-under-par 851 to share the team title. Duke fired three rounds in the red (283, 287, 281) to post the victory and the 145th win of Blue Devil head coach
Dan Brooks' impressive career.
The Blue Devils will compete in the Windy City Collegiate Classic for the 10th time in program history.
Duke will field a lineup that includes senior
Katie Li, junior
Carla De Troia, junior
Anna Cañado Espinal, sophomore
Avery McCrery and freshman
Mia Hammond.
Rianne Malixi will miss the event after
competing in the Asian Games in Japan.
In last year's event, Li tied for sixth, while Cañado Espinal tied for fourth and McCrery tied for 18th.
Duke opened the 2026 regular season at the Folds of Honor Collegiate in Michigan and turned in a third-place finish. The Blue Devils made a charge in the final round and finished only two strokes out of first place. Hammond, who hails from New Albany, Ohio, carded rounds of 70, 71 and 69 for a 6-under, 210, to win in her collegiate debut. Li tied for third, which included a 4-under, 68, in the final round.
All teams will play 36 holes Monday followed by 18 holes Tuesday. Duke will open action at 8:30 a.m. ET off hole No. 10, along with Arizona and Oregon.
