THE OPENING PASS BACK:

BEACH GARNERS ACC OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK HONORS:
- After turning in a steady performance during a 2-0 weekend for Duke, Madison Beach was named the ACC Offensive Player of the Week.
- Beach posted four points during the Blue Devils' fourth weekend sweep of the season, which featured victories over then-No. 9 Syracuse and Saint Joseph's. The two wins pushed Duke's winning streak to seven games and kept them atop the ACC standings at 9-2 overall and 4-0 in league action.
- In the 2-0 victory over the Orange, Beach became the 12th different Blue Devil to find the back of the net in 2026 as she scored her first goal of the season. In Duke's 2-1 overtime triumph against the Hawks, the Northbrook, Illinois, native dished two assists, including the dime on Alaina McVeigh's golden goal.
DUKE-STANFORD SERIES HISTORY
- Friday marks the 10th all-time meeting between Duke and Stanford, with the Blue Devils holding an 8-1 lead in the series.
- Duke has won four straight games against the Cardinal, including a 2-0 victory in Durham last season.
- The Blue Devils have outscored Stanford, 21-4 across the previous nine matchups while only allowing a goal in two games.

SOLID DUKE DEFENSE:
- Duke's defense has been solid during the 2026 season. The Blue Devils continuously bring relentless pressure in the midfield while forcing the opposition into tough or ill-advised passes.
- The Blue Devils boast the ACC's No. 1 scoring defense, leading the conference while ranking seventh in the NCAA with a 0.86 goals against average. Duke's six shutouts on the year are currently tied for first in the conference, while the team's 0.55 shutouts per game average leads the ACC and ranks second nationally.
- Part of Duke's success defensively is that the Blue Devils limit their opponent's chances to score, allowing just 7.3 shots per game. Duke has held eight opponents to less than 10 shots and seven teams to fewer than five attempts.
- When opponents are able to get a shot off, just over half of them (51 percent) get through to Kaiya Chepow. The shots that do make it to Chepow usually don't find the back of the net, as the junior boasts a 0.82 goals against average and a .757 save percentage.
- The Blue Devils are allowing just 3.1 penalty corners per game, which is the second fewest among NFHCA top-20 teams. Only Monmouth allows fewer set pieces, giving up 2.0 per contest.
