DURHAM, N.C. – The first Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) singles and doubles national rankings for 2026 have been released with five Duke women's tennis standouts listed among the singles and doubles ledger.Â

A pair of Duke sophomores –
Irina Balus and
Liv Hovde – were ranked No. 28 and No. 120 in singles, respectively, while
Shavit Kimchi/
Liv Hovde (#19),
Eleana Yu/
Claire An (#29) and Hovde/Balus (#30) were listed in the doubles rankings.

An All-America selection for the second year in a row, Balus has won nine out of her last 11 singles matches to move to No. 28 nationally. This includes four victories over opponents ranked No. 79 or better. Balus, who hails from Banská Bystrica, Slovakia, is 4-0 on the season at the No. 1 slot for the Blue Devils.Â

A native of Daniel Island, South Carolina, Hovde owns eight wins on the season and recently tallied a victory against the 54th-ranked player nationally in a match with South Carolina. She enters the ITA National Team Indoors as the winner of eight out of her last 12 contests. Hovde is 3-1 in dual matches in 2025-26.

The doubles duo of Kimchi/Hovde have logged a 7-3 ledger on the season, while An/Yu owns a 5-2 mark. Hovde/Balus have competed twice and registered a 6-4 win over the ninth-ranked doubles team in the nation in September.Â

Seventh-ranked Duke is set to open play in the National Team Indoors Friday, Feb. 6, at 7:30 p.m. (ET) against 10th-ranked Ohio State in Urbana, Illinois.Â
