SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Duke women's basketball forward
Toby Fournier has been named a Mid-Season Top 10 candidate for the 2026 Katrina McClain Award, the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame, in partnership with the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA), announced Thursday afternoon.
Fournier is having a stellar sophomore season, leading the Blue Devils in points (17.7), rebounds (7.9) and blocks (2.1). Overall, Fournier is the top scoring forward in the ACC and is seventh among all forwards from Power 4 programs. Her 17.7 points per game are third overall in the league, while her 18.5 points average in league play is fourth.
The Toronto, Ontario, native has been consistent on offense all season, shooting at least 50 percent in 17 of the 22 games. She ranks fourth in the ACC in field goal percentage (.543) and is also shooting a solid 30 percent from behind the arc.
Notching six double-doubles in 22 games, Fournier has seven 20-point efforts and 18 outings with at least five boards. Improved on the defensive end of the court, Fournier is a menace in the paint with 47 blocks – eight more than she had in 35 games last season.
Ranked 17th in the last AP poll, Duke (16-6, 11-0 ACC) faces a tough road test at No. 6 Louisville, Feb. 5 at 7 p.m., on ESPN. The game pits the Blue Devils' 13-game winning streak against the Cardinals' 14-game unbeaten stretch.
Fans are encouraged to participate in Fan Voting in both of the remaining rounds starting on Friday, February 6, on
hoophallawards.com. The Fan Vote will count as one committee vote during the finalist selection process.
In mid-March, the Mid-Season Top 10 list will be narrowed to just five, and in late March, the five finalists will be presented to Malone, McClain, and the Hall of Fame's selection committees, where winners will be selected. The Selection Committees for the Karl Malone and Katrina McClain Awards are composed of top men's and women's college basketball personnel, including media members, head coaches, sports information directors, and Hall of Famers.
The winner of the 2026 Malone and McClain Awards will be presented on a to-be-determined date, along with the other four members of the Men's and Women's Starting Five.
