HOW IT HAPPENED
- Jennings sparked the bats immediately, reaching on a leadoff single before advancing to third on a stolen base and throwing error. She scored easily on Vega's triple off the left center field wall. Vega came home on a ground out in the following at bat to put Duke in front, 2-0.
- Jones extended the Blue Devils' edge to 4-0 in the bottom of the third with a two-run home run off the scoreboard in left center field. Her long ball also brought in Oakland after she sent a single into the right field gap.
- Jennings sparked a two-out rally in the bottom of the fourth, dropping a base hit into shallow center field and moving into scoring position with her second stolen base of the night. Vega plated Jennings with an RBI-single to right field before coming in on Oakland's homer to deep left field, stretching the lead to 7-0.
- Campbell responded in the top of the fifth, using a pair of walks, fielder's choice and Blue Devil throwing error to push its lone run across the plate.
NOTES

- Mathis made her debut in the circle, tossing one hitless inning with two walks and one strikeout.
- Wheeler improves her ledger to 6-4 after 20 appearances in the circle.
