DURHAM, N.C. — Former Duke women's soccer two-time All-American Michelle Cooper has received the call by the United States Women's National Team (USWNT) for the upcoming FIFA international
window. Cooper was one of 26 players earning the invitation for training camp and three friendlies with Japan.
Cooper returns to the international scene for the first time in nearly six months after recovering from a foot injury. Her last call-up was in October of 2025 where she started two matches and dished out an assist against New Zealand at CPKC Stadium. She made her USWNT debut during the 2025 SheBelieves Cup with her first national team goal proving to be the game-winner versus Australia during the tournament. She then recorded her first assist in a victory over China PR a few months later.
Entering this international break, Cooper has 10 caps, six starts, one goal and two assists on her resume.
The first contest will take place Saturday, April 11, at PayPal Park in San Jose, California, with kickoff set for 5:30 p.m. (ET). The U.S. and Japan will face off again at Lumen Field in Seattle, Washington, at 10 p.m. (ET) Tuesday, April 14, before concluding the series Friday, April 17, in Commerce City, Colorado, at 9 p.m. (ET) at DICK'S Sporting Goods Park.
All three matches will broadcast on TNT, truTV and HBOMax in English as well as on Universo and Peacock in Spanish, in addition to being available on the radio in English on Westwood One.
