In the midweek game against Liberty, Vega reached base in all five plate appearances, going 2-for-2 and drawing three walks with four runs scored. She blasted a key solo home run over the left field wall to extend the Blue Devils' edge over the Flames late in the game.
Vega launched another solo shot to center field in the series-opening win at North Carolina to homer in back-to-back games for the third time this season.
A multi-home run outing from the starting second baseman helped guide the Duke offense to an 8-2 victory in the series finale at North Carolina Sunday. The DeBary, Florida, native finished 3-for-4 at the plate while driving in three runs to reach the 200-career RBI milestone. Vega extended her hitting streak to a team-high 15 games and recorded the fourth multi-home run game of her Blue Devil career.
Vega holds a .471 batting average on the season while leading the team in hits (66), runs scored (65), doubles (18) and triples (5).
