BRIGHTON, Mass. – Duke opened the weekend series at Boston College with a 11-1 loss in seven innings. The Blue Devils (22-18, 8-11 ACC) yielded eight runs in the first two frames, while the Eagles (29-12, 12-7 ACC) scattered just three hits allowed through the contest.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Boston College scored the game's first runs, taking a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first. Collin Anderson roped a two-out double in the top of the second for Duke's first hit of the contest but the Blue Devils couldn't bring the freshman home.
- The Eagles added five more runs, taking an 8-0 lead after two innings.
- Duke loaded the bases in the top of the fourth and scratched across its first run of the game.
- The Eagles took a double-digit lead, 11-1, in the bottom of the fifth. Both teams were held scoreless for the remainder of the contest, as Boston College secured the seven-inning win.
