DURHAM, N.C.— Duke women's soccer head coach
Kieran Hall has brought in five very talented newcomers for the 2026 season. All five joined the Blue Devils in January and have been practicing with the team this spring. GoDuke.com sat down with each of the newcomers to get to know them ahead of the season.
Our third spotlight is
Sam Courtwright, who is a 5-8 redshirt junior from Dallas, Texas. A two-time Big 12 All-First Team and 2023 United Soccer Coaches All-America, Courtwright spent the last two years at Texas Tech before transferring. She collected nine goals and 15 assists for 33 points over two seasons, while starting all 43 matches.
Courtwright has represented the United States recently at the U.S. National Team Development Camp in January and for the 2024 U-20 World Cup. She is coming off a redshirt sophomore season at Texas Tech where she helped lead the Red Raiders to the NCAA Tournament second round, was a United Soccer Coaches First Team All-Midwest region honoree, tallied four goals and seven assists.
