EUGENE, Ore. – Duke track and field concluded the second day of the 2026 NCAA Outdoor Championships with eight student-athletes capturing All-America honors, while four advanced to Saturday's finals in their respective events.
The Blue Devils earned All-America accoladed Thursday in four women's events – 4x100-meter relay, pole vault, 200 meters and 800 meters – as well as the men's decathlon.
TOP PERFORMANCES:
- Duke's women's 4x100 gave a strong effort in its semifinal race on the way to earning second-team All-America recognition. The unit of junior Mia Edim, sophomore Maya Collins, senior Gianna Locci and sophomore Braelyn Baker produced a time of 43.46 to tie for 11th overall.
- Gemma Tutton was named an outdoor All-American for the second consecutive season, earning a spot on the second team after registering a solid all-around performance in the women's pole vault. The junior made an 11-spot improvement from her 2025 showing with a personal-best clearance of 4.49m (14-8.75 feet), tying for ninth overall while improving her No. 2 all-time Duke mark.
- Edim collected her second All-America honor of the day, earning an honorable mention nod in the 200-meter dash via an 18th-place finish of 23.13.
- Graduate students Michael Bennett and Max Forte completed action in the men's decathlon Thursday evening. Bennett garnered second-team recognition after placing 12th with 7494 points, while Forte finished with 5921 points (21st) to earn honorable mention status.
- Bailey Goggans earned All-America honors for the first time in her collegiate career, receiving honorable mention accolades in the 800 via a 23rd-place showing of 2:07.01.
- Duke also punched three tickets to Saturday's finals in the 800, 400 meter and 4x400.
- Senior Lauren Tolbert clocked 1:59.69 en route to securing her spot in the 800 final. Tolbert secured the automatic qualifier as her mark checked in as the second-best time in her heat and the fourth fastest of the overall field.
- The Blue Devil relay of senior Julia Jackson, Baker, Collins and Tolbert turned in a stellar performance in the semifinal race, with the quartet hitting the tape in a season-best time of 3:25.14 to capture the automatic bid. The quartet posted the fastest time in its heat and the third-fastest time overall, while lowering its own school and ACC record for the second consecutive meet.
- Baker also locked down a spot in the 400 final, earning a time qualifier with a finish of 51.15.
