MIDLAND, Mich. – Former Duke women's golf All-America selection Gina Kim teamed with Yana Wilson to win the Dow Championship Sunday for their first Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) Tour titles at the Midland Country Club in Midland.
Kim and Wilson carded a final round 8-under-par, 62, in best-ball play for a two-stroke victory over Hyo Joo Kim and Hye-Jin Choi. Over the four days, Kim and Wilson finished with a 17-under, 263, with rounds of 68, 63, 70 and 62.
On the par-4 fifth hole, Kim holed out from the fairway for eagle to help them move up the leaderboard.
"I knew I hit a really good shot and I was thinking, `Oh, OK, maybe I'll tap it in for birdie.' And then it just disappeared," Kim said. "I think that really set the tone for the day."
Kim, a native of Durham, North Carolina, won in her 64th start on the LPGA Tour. It marks her fifth career professional victory after winning four times on the Epson Tour. Kim now owns $776,134 in earnings over her career.
"This has been the most fun week," said Kim. "It's been tough and it's nice to have a really good friend to be able to do this by."
Kim and Wilson are the LPGA Tour's first Rolex first-time winners in 2026 and are the first Rolex first-time winners since Duke graduate Miranda Wang won the 2025 FM Championship.
Duke's Celine Boutier teamed with Nanna Koerstz Madsen and finished tied for 12th with a 9-under, 271. Ana Belac was with Jodi Ewart Shadoff and tied for 17th with an 8-under, 272. The Duke tandem of Lindy Duncan and Leona Maguire finished 27th at 6-under, 274.
