DURHAM, N.C. – When The Women's Amateur Championship kicks off Monday, June 22, the Duke women's golf program will be well-represented with seven golfers competing in Muirfield, Scotland. The event will take place from June 22-27 at Muirfield.
Seeing action this week will be five current Duke team members –
Katie Li,
Rianne Malixi,
Avery McCrery,
Carla De Troia and
Anna Cañado Espinal. Incoming freshman
Mia Hammond and recent Duke graduate
Andie Smith will also see action.
All golfers will play 36 holes of stroke play qualifying June 22-23 and then the top 64 finishers will move on to match play. The first round will take place June 24, followed by the second and third rounds June 25. The quarterfinals and semifinals will be contested June 26, with the 36-hole final taking place June 27.
Blue Devil standouts
Celine Boutier (2015) and
Leona Maguire (2017) each claimed The Women's Amateur Championship.
