CLEVELAND – Duke Athletics concluded the 2025-26 campaign ranked 11th in the Learfield Directors' Cup standings announced Thursday by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics, marking the Blue Devils' second consecutive 1,000-point season and their highest point total since 2013-14.
Duke accumulated 1,039.25 points to place 11th nationally and fourth among ACC institutions. Points are awarded based on each institution's finish in NCAA Championship competition.
Highlighted by national semifinal appearances from women's soccer and men's lacrosse, which each earned 83 points, Duke received major contributions from women's basketball (73), men's basketball (73), women's golf (72.75), men's fencing (72), field hockey (65), softball (64), women's tennis (64), men's soccer (64) and men's golf (63). The Blue Devils have finished among the nation's top 30 programs in all but two of the 32 years since the Directors' Cup standings were first introduced in 1993-94. Duke's 1,039.25 points represent an increase of 29.25 points from last year's total of 1,010.00 and rank as the program's second-highest point total over the last 14 Directors' Cup campaigns.
Duke was joined in the top 25 by fellow ACC members Stanford (2nd), North Carolina (4th), Virginia (5th), Notre Dame (19th) and NC State (22nd). Louisville (29th), California (39th), Florida State (41st), Clemson (42nd), Wake Forest (54th), Virginia Tech (55th), Miami (57th), Syracuse (59th), SMU (64th), Boston College (83rd), Pittsburgh (84th) and Georgia Tech (90th) followed. The ACC placed seven institutions among the nation's top 30, marking the 24th consecutive year that four or more ACC schools placed among the top 30 in the final rankings.
The Learfield Directors' Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today. Nineteen total teams can earn points toward the final standings, four of which must be baseball, men's basketball, women's basketball and volleyball.
