DURHAM, N.C. – Duke women's golf rising sophomore
Rianne Malixi is set to open action in the Arnold Palmer Cup, which will take place July 3-5 at the Tralee Golf Links in Tralee, County Kerry, Ireland.
Malixi, a native of Manila, Philippines, will represent the International squad and will face the United States. Team USA leads the all-time series 15-13-1, but the International team is coming off a 35-25 victory last year.
The action opens Friday with mixed four-ball followed by foursomes on Saturday morning and mixed foursomes on Saturday afternoon. Sunday's final round will feature singles play.
The Arnold Palmer Cup was co-founded by Arnold Palmer and the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) and began at the Bay Hill Club & Lodge in Orlando, Florida, in 1997. The event is a Ryder Cup-style tournament featuring the top men's and women's collegiate golfers that matches the United States against a team of international players.
Malixi is the seventh Blue Devil to compete in the Arnold Palmer Cup – Erica Shepherd (2021 and 2022),
Jon Whithaus (2021), Gina Kim (2020 and 2021),
Dan Brooks (2020), Ana Belac (2019) and Jaravee Boonchant (2018).
Fans will be able to follow the action live on the Golf Channel YouTube channel, Golf Channel mobile app and GolfChannel.com.
