Collins' Tally at ODU Named Candidate for Goal of the Week

DURHAM, N.C.— The Intercollegiate Women's Soccer Organization for Coaches (IWSOC) announced its candidates for top goal of the week with Duke women's soccer junior Katie Shea Collins' game-winning tally at Old Dominion selected.

Blue Devil fans can click here to vote for Collins' goal through Wednesday at 10:59 p.m. (ET).

This past Thursday, Collins registered the game-winning goal in the 89th minute to lift second-ranked Duke to a 2-1 come-from-behind victory at Old Dominion.

Sophomore goalkeeper Molly Vapensky took the ball in the box and threw a long pass to senior Phoebe Goldthwaite. A product of Durham, Goldthwaite drove up the middle of the pitch and found Collins, who beat the ODU defender and slotted her 12th career game-winning goal into the far-left corner of the goal to give Duke a 2-1 lead with 1:53 remaining.

Collins, who hails from Gallatin, Tennessee, has scored goals in four games in a row and owns five goals on the season.

Duke will next host No. 1 Stanford Sunday, Sept. 13 at 12 p.m., live on ACC Network.
