A full-time professor of chemistry at Duke, Dr. James Bonk has been involved with the Blue Devil tennis program over the last 46 seasons.
He lettered in tennis while earning his B.S. degree at Carroll College in Waukesha, Wis., then went on to receive his doctorate at Ohio State.
Considered an expert in the technical aspects of the game, Bonk served as tournament chairman for the United States Tennis Association National Boys Interscholastic Championship that was held at Duke for 18 years.
He is also a physical fitness enthusiast and active tennis participant with a genuine love for the game.
