Beau Bunn begins his second season as an assistant diving coach at Duke University after a standout career as a student-athlete at the University of North Carolina-Wilmington.
As a walk-on freshman at UNCW, Bunn earned Rookie of the Year honors in the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) and finished second on both springboards at the conference meet his first season. As a sophomore, he was named CAA Diver of the Year and placed second on the one-meter and first on three-meter. As a junior, Bunn went undefeated in the conference, again taking CAA Diver of the Year honors and sweeping the springboards. To complete his collegiate career, Bunn placed second on both boards at the CAA Championships as a senior and was named to the All-ECAC team. In addition, he was named Outstanding Male Diver at UNCW four straight years. Bunn graduated from UNCW in 1999 with a degree in Physical Education.
Bunn has coached numerous summer league age group teams in Raleigh, and was the head diving coach for four Wake County schools in 2007. Beau is married to his wife of 11 years, April, and the couple has two sons, Jason and Nathan and two dogs, Dudley and Bailey.
