Prior to Duke: Swam for Westwood High School and Waterloo Swimming … Garnered Academic All-America recognition his junior and senior year… From his sophomore through senior years, was tabbed a Westwood High School All-America honoree in the 200 IM … As a freshman, was a 200 IM state relay finalist and a 100 Butterfly region finalist … Reached the state B finals in the 200 IM and 100 Butterfly during his sophomore year … Had a breakout junior campaign, earning first place in the Aggieland 200 IM, while also placing second in the 100 Breaststroke and fourth in the 200 IM … As a senior, was the TISCA 100 Breaststroke and 100 IM champion, while also claiming a 100 Breaststroke title at the state finals and finishing runner-up in the 100 IM.
