Duke (9-2, 3-1 ACC) is currently ranked in five national polls: No. 12 in the coaches poll, No. 13 in the Soccer Buzz Magazine poll, No. 13 in the SoccerTimes.com poll, No. 17 in SoccerPoll.com, and No. 19 in the Soccer America Top 20 poll. Clemson (12-0, 3-0 ACC) is ranked No. 2 in four polls (Coaches, SoccerTimes.com, SoccerPoll.com, Soccer America) and No. 3 in the Soccer Buzz Magazine poll.
The Blue Devils are averaging 2.7 goals per game, which ranks second in the ACC. Junior forward Sarah Pickens (Greensboro, N.C.) leads Duke in scoring with six goals and one assist totaling 13 points while sophomore midfielder Carly Fuller (5 goals, 3 assists), sophomore forward Alison Sanders (5 goals), and freshman forward Gwendolyn Oxenham (4 goals, 2 assists) have provided solid scoring support up front for the Blue Devils.
The Tigers, who defeated the Blue Devils 5-0 in their only meeting last season, is led by freshman forward Lindsay Browne (Encinitas, Calif.) and sophomore forward Deliah Arrington (Pawleys Island, S.C.). Browne leads the Tigers with seven goals and nine assists for 23 points while Arrington is second on the team with six goals and five assists totaling 17 points.
Clemson is coming off two one-goal victories, a 2-1 victory in overtime at Virginia on September 29 and a 1-0 win at Richmond on October 1.
