Durham, N.C. - Senior midfielder Blake Camp received his second National Team of the Week honor this season when he was named to the Top Drawer Soccer National Team of the Week on Monday.
Camp scored two goals to lead the Blue Devils to a 2-1 victory over Stony Brook last Wednesday. He gave fourth ranked Duke a 1-0 lead with a header three minutes in to the second half. After the Seawolves came back to tie the game, Camp tallied the game-winning goal with just 57 seconds left in regulation. He took a pass at the top of the box from Mike Grella and sent it in to the bottom right corner of the net for his seventh goal of the year. He also led the Blue Devils with four shots in their scoreless tie at No. 8 North Carolina on Friday.
The honor for Camp is his second of the year. He was named to the College Soccer News National Team of the Week on Sept. 25. Other Duke players who have received weekly national honors are Grella, Chris Loftus, Zach Pope and Spencer Wadsworth. Danny Kramer also received a weekly honor when he was named the ACC Player of the Week on Sept. 19.
The Blue Devils have one game remaining in the regular season. They will host Clemson at 7 p.m. on Saturday. This week they are ranked No. 5 by soccertimes.com and No. 8 by both College Soccer News and Soccer America.
The ACC Tournament will begin next Tuesday, Nov. 8 with the championship game taking place on Sunday, Nov. 13.
