Durham, N.C. - Blake Camp was selected as the National Player of the Week by Soccer America after leading the Blue Devils to three wins over top ten teams on their way to their second ACC Tournament Championship.
Camp, a senior midfielder from Danielsville, Ga., was named the ACC Tournament MVP after leading Duke to its second ACC Tournament Championship. He scored two goals in the first half in the Blue Devil's 4-2 upset of No. 1 Maryland in the semifinals and then converted his penalty kick as Duke defeated North Carolina 5-4 in a shootout in the championship game.
The award was the first of the season for Camp. It was the third time this season he has been named to the National Team of the Week. He has tied a career-high with nine goals and has assisted on five others. He leads the team with 23 points.
Camp and the Blue Devils will try to make their second straight run to final four on Tuesday at 7 p.m. when they host the winner of the match between Creighton and Lafayette. Duke is the sixth seed in the NCAA Tournament and receives a bye in the first round.
