No. 10 Duke Has Stellar First Day at Michigan Invitational

ANN ARBOR, Mich. - The No. 10 Duke women's tennis team opened its season at the Michigan Invitational on Friday, winning three of four doubles matches and all eight singles matches on day one of action at the University of Michigan's Varsity Tennis Center.
The Blue Devils took on No. 52 LSU in doubles to start the day, as the 29th-ranked duo of Jessi Robinson and Melissa Mang fell to No. 10 Megan Falcon and Hannah Robinson, 8-5, but it would be all wins from then on for Duke. The fourth-ranked duo of Daniela Bercek and Elizabeth Plotkin, the team of Tory Zawacki and Amanda Granson, and the pair of Kristin Cargill and Parker Goyer all posted victories.
Duke then squared off against No. 58 Denver in singles, as Bercek, Plotkin, Mang,Granson, Robinson, Cargill, Clelia Deltour and Goyer all posted wins for the Blue Devils. Just one match went to three sets on the day, as the Blue Devils cruised through the first day of spring play.
The Blue Devils will take on Denver in doubles at 10 a.m. on Saturday, and then No. 29 Michigan in singles at 11:30 a.m.
