Columbus, Ohio ? After defeating two top-10 singles players on Friday to advance to the semifinals, freshman Ellah Nze fell to 21st-ranked and No. 3 seed Ani Mijacika of Clemson, 6-1, 6-1, at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) National Indoor Championships.
On Friday, Nze became the first freshman (along with Baylor's Taylor Ormond, who beat No.7 seed Amanda McDowell from Georgia Tech in the quarters on Friday) to reach the semifinals of the National Indoors since Susie Babos of California did it in 2005.
The Blue Devil duo of sophomore Amanda Granson and junior Melissa Mang will compete in the consolation title match on Sunday, as the pair upset the top-ranked and top-seeded tandem of Megan Moulton-Levy and Katarina Zoricic of William & Mary on Saturday in the semifinals by a score of 8-5.
Granson and Mang will take on a familiar opponent in Sophie Grabinski and Sanaz Marand of North Carolina on Sunday at 9:30 a.m. The two tandems also squared off against each other in the ITA Southeast Regional championship match, as the Blue Devils came away with an 8-3 victory to take home the regional title.
Freshman Reka Zsilinszka was active in the singles back draw on Saturday, as she defeated 54th-ranked Lenka Broosovic of Baylor, 6-3, 7-5, before dropping a 6-0, 6-4 decision to eighth-ranked and No. 8 seed Georgia Rose of Northwestern.
The National Indoor Championships is the second of three national tournaments for singles and doubles during the 2007-08 collegiate tennis season. The Ohio State University is hosting this week's championships at the Racquet Club of Columbus.

In other Duke tennis action, senior Tory Zawacki, junior Jessi Robinson and sophomore Elizabeth Plotkin competed at the Duke Invitational, held at Cary Tennis Park in Cary, N.C.
Zawacki defeated Carmen Seremeta of Oregon, 6-2, 6-3, and teamed up with Robinson for an 8-5 win over Seremeta and Celine Rolly. In singles action, Robinson fell to Anna Powaska of Oregon, 6-2, 6-3.
Plotkin and Robinson combined for a win over Ivana King and Rebecca Parks of Princeton (8-2), while Plotkin posted a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Rolly in singles play.
The Duke Invitational will conclude on Sunday with one round of singles starting at 10:30 a.m.
