DURHAM, N.C.? The NSCAA/adidas 2007 All-Southeast Region teams have been released with three Blue Devils -- Lorraine Quinn, Allison Lipsher and Elisabeth Redmond -- each earning honors, after guiding Duke to the NCAA College Cup quarterfinals.
Both Quinn and Lipsher earned second team accolades, while Redmond was selected to the third team.
Lipsher, who finished her career with 33 shutouts in goal for the Blue Devils, had a stellar season in 2007 as she totaled a 0.84 goals-against average to go along with seven shutouts and 91 saves. A native of Honolulu, Hawaii, Lipsher's 33 shutouts she concluded her career with ranked second on Duke's all-time list and tied for fourth on the ACC charts.
Quinn, who is from Farmingdale, N.Y., established herself as one of the top midfielders in the nation in 2007 as she totaled four goals, three assists and 11 points in 23 games started. In three seasons at Duke, Quinn has produced eight goals, 12 assists and 28 points.
A product of Morristown, N.J., Redmond led the Blue Devils with eight goals, 12 assists and four game-winning goals. Her 12 assists was the second-most in a single season at Duke. Redmond also totaled eight assists on goals that tied the match or was the game-winner.
Losing only two seniors -- Lipsher and Andrea Crane -- Duke will feature 10 returning starters in 2008, while welcoming another stellar recruiting class.
The Blue Devils will feature some of the best depth they have had in a long time at every position next year, which includes 11 players who scored at least one goal from last season. Duke's defensive line headed by Kelly McCann, Christie McDonald, Sara Murphy, Gretchen Miller and Meaghan FitzGerald will return after guiding Duke to nine shutouts.
