Duke Swimming & Diving Recognized For Academic Accomplishments

DURHAM, N.C. ? The Duke men's and women's swimming and diving programs were honored recently for their academic success as both were named Division I All-Academic teams by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA), the organization announced.
The women's team finished with the 10th-highest team GPA in the nation with a combined 3.476 for the 2007-08 academic year, while the men were 33rd with a 3.051.
The women also saw six individuals recognized, with sophomore Ashley Twichell named to the Academic All-America team and Lauren Gonzalez, Danielle Spearman, Julie Brummond, Shannon Beall, Meredith Bannon, and Kirstie Jeffrey named Honorable Mention Academic All-Americas for 2007-08.
