DURHAM, N.C.-For the second time this season, Duke University freshman Ryan Finley has been selected to the TopDrawerSoccer.com Team of the Week after helping the Blue Devils to a 2-0 week. Aided by Finley's five points, Duke climbed to 13th in the College Soccer News and Soccer America polls.
Finley finished with a goal and three assists for five points in wins over Presbyterian and Virginia Tech this week. In a 6-0 blanking of the Blue Hose, the native of Lumberton, N.J., registered a goal and an assist in just 29 minutes of action. He followed that with a pair of helpers as the Blue Devils earned a key 4-1 victory over ACC foe Virginia Tech.
The rookie forward currently leads the team in goals with nine tallies and ranks second in points with 22. His four game-winning goals are ties for the team lead and rank second in the ACC.
Duke moved up in the polls for the second straight week with the pair of victories. The Blue Devils are 12-4 overall on the year and 4-3-0 in ACC play. They currently are tied for fourth in the league standings with Boston College.
Duke closes out its regular season schedule on Nov. 6 at current No. 3 Wake Forest at 7 p.m.
