DURHAM, N.C. – This weekend the Blue Devil divers will travel to the Bill and Mae McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion on the campus of Ohio State to compete in the Ohio State Diving Invitational. The competition runs from Friday, December 4 through Sunday, December 6.
Other teams sending divers to the meet include Alabama, Arizona State, Indiana, Iowa, Miami (Ohio), Miami (Fla.), Minnesota, N.C. State, Notre Dame, Penn State, Pittsburgh, Purdue, South Carolina, and West Virginia. The Duke divers will be familiar with some members of the field, having already competed against Miami (Fla.); however, the nationwide draw of the invitational will give Duke a look at some divers it wouldn't otherwise see until the NCAA Championships.
This will be the first meet for freshman
Nick McCrory to post a score in his best event; the 10-meter platform. It will also serve as an opportunity for the Duke diving program to prove its legitimacy as one of the best in the country.
