DURHAM, N.C. - Duke freshman
Christine Wixted has been named the Ronald McDonald House Charities Student-Athlete of the Week after breaking two pool records and qualifying for the NCAA B times in only the second week of competition.
Wixted, a Greenwood Village, Colo. native, stands undefeated in competition thus far. In last week's match against UNC Wilmington, the freshman set two pool records in the three events she swam.
Over the weekend, against conference rivals Maryland, Wixted once again posted two pool records in the 100 and 200 breaststroke, making the NCAA provisional qualifying time in each.
Wixted and the Duke swimming and diving team will next compete on Friday, Oct. 29, when it hosts N.C. State and the women of Campbell University at 5:00 p.m.
